My days of island hopping are over, and reality is finally starting to kick in unfortunately… Throughout the month of May, I have been celebrating graduating Ohio University by traveling around the Caribbean. From laying out underneath palm trees of the Bahamas to enjoying the crystal clear waters of Bermuda with my girlfriends, I knew I needed the most perfect cover-ups to lounge around in. Therefore, I started shopping early for my vacation wardrobe.
What I’m Wearing
Personally, I look for cover-ups that are comfortable and versatile, something that could be worn on and off the beach. So, I checked out shopping website Revolve, for a trendy yet unique cover-up. During my search I found this netted and flared sleeved Seaside dress, which I turned into a cover-up. The dress came with a detachable and adjustable slip that I brought on vacation, just in case I wanted to wear it out and about. The dress was breezy enough to wear beneath the sweltering island sun and lose enough to wear out to dinner.
I paired this stunning star dress with a reasonably priced one piece from Forever21 , J. Adams silver platform Sandals from Tradesy. and Of course, I couldn’t leave my new favorite cat-eye sunnies from Quay Australia at home.
Day vs. Night
My strategy for styling cover-ups for day vs. night is rather simple: I try to add accessories like tassel earrings, a roomy beach tote, or a fashionable sun hat for a casual day at the beach. Though, if you add a simple metallic heel or a pop of color clutch, it can turn this poolside cover-up into a statement evening dress.
