Here in New York the temperature is dropping and snow is falling, but you will never catch me dead in one of those ugly puffy jackets our parents used to make us wear back in the day. That is why I turned to a faux fur jacket this winter season. If you are looking to make a fashion statement, faux fur might just become your new best friend.
Outerwear has never been my thing, and neither is winter… I dislike putting together a perfect outfit, only to ruin it with a winter jacket. I have seen faux fur EVERYWHERE! From celebrities, bloggers, or other fashionistas, this fashion piece is just hard to resist.
Individuals have been styling this season’s faux fur trend in several different ways and have been totally slaying the game. faux fur was first introduced in the 1950’s and became popular due to the animal rights and animal welfare organizations. These groups claim that faux fur is an animal-friendly alternative to traditional fur!
How to Style Faux Fur
Faux fur is perfect if you are looking to style a retro look. You can create this getup by pairing it with simple staples like black/ denim high-waisted jeans, a statement belt and a classic tee. You can find this look on my favorite online shopping website NastyGal. Which has 80 percent discount on everything in the store right now!
Bad and Boujee Faux Fur
Okay, so whenever I wear my statement faux fur, people always tell me that I look bad and boujee or “so extra.” This fashion staple is a selfie-worthy coat and can be found in several colors at Forever21, Lulus, and ASOS. This jacket is everything you need to rake in all those likes on Instagram.
What I’m Wearing
When in New York, my favorite hobby is to go brunching with my fav girl gang (The 7). We went to “Your Mother’s House” in Garden City, where they have unlimited mimosas and a delicious menu. When you go brunching, you must wear an insta-worthy outfit. Therefore, I threw on my favorite white faux fur jacket from NastyGal, my black and white ruffle striped blouse, black ripped jeans from Urban Outfitters, and my new statement Gucci belt. Lastly, I topped off this look with my favorite white vegan leather booties.
