If you asked freshman Tiffany three years ago about denim, I would have laughed out loud and told you that I do everything in my power to avoid jeans on a daily basis. As a curvy girl, skinny jeans have never looked flattering on me. I would always look at my friends with curiosity and wonder why my jeans don’t look and fit the way theirs do. Although this has always been a constant struggle, it allowed me to explore different styles that denim has to offer.
The key to success in the fashion world is to wear apparel that makes you feel uncomfortable in a social setting. This means you are standing out and making a statement. For Instance, ever since I came to Ohio University, I have always been nervous to break out my favorite New York pieces like my snakeskin booties and my mega distressed boyfriend jeans. In my college town, it is socially acceptable to wear sweatpants to class and leggings out to the bars… obviously, this is considered fashion suicide for a fashionista like me. Therefore, I tend to dress to impress, don’t care what other people think, and create a style that reveals who I am.
What I’m Wearing
Recently, my girlfriends and I took a trip to Short North in Columbus for brunch and mani-pedis. So, I jumped on the opportunity and wore my favorite distressed boyfriend jeans from Boohoo, my new ripped blush pink sweater from FigLeaf Boutique and my all-time go-to funky snakeskin booties from LF Stores. To get this look, you need to swap out your skinnies for one of this season’s hottest trends in denim-BOYFRIEND JEANS! This type of look can be extremely versatile and could be worn in different ways. I challenge everyone to come out of their comfort zone and rock one of these looks during Thanksgiving break.
