Can you believe it’s August already?
The last chapter of the summer is right around the corner as we feel the weather getting cooler, see retail stores launching fall collections and back-to-school advertisements take over social media and television. As some people build up their excitement for football season and pumpkin spice latte’s, we cannot jump to conclusions and forget about all the beach days we have left. Therefore, say goodbye to summertime sadness and squeeze in your last go-to bikini or sundress before the leaves start to fall.
High-Rise Mom Jeans
First, Let’s get things straight and ditch the tight denim shorts you have in your closet. In today’s society, people believe that short shorts are “hot” or somewhat called “flattering” or “sexy” … But in reality, in the beaming summer heat, it leaves you with CHUB RUB, and there is no way you are comfortable! So, if you scroll through your Instagram or the pages of Cosmopolitan, you will see celebrities wearing vintage destroyed high-waisted shorts or jeans. The fashion industry has welcomed back the “mom jeans”- you know the kinds you would’ve found in a thrift store or our mother’s closet. Personally, three years back, I would never be caught dead in a pair of “mom jeans,” but now I can’t get enough of them!
On my mini vacation to Montauk, I rocked high-waisted shorts from LF Stores. These fabulous light washed destroyed denim shorts are perfect for the beach since they have a loose fit, which leaves enough room for a swimsuit underneath.
I Recently discovered a clothing website named Naked Wardrobe. This awesome online hidden gem is a perfect place if you are searching for a French-cut swimsuit, a sexy jumpsuit, or matching two-piece set. My swimsuit is a white cotton French-cut, that emphasizes my curves. This particular style has originated back in the ‘80s but recently came back and works for all shapes and sizes. This vintage-inspired cheek-revealing swimsuit lengthens the look of your legs and torso. Therefore, slay the beach with some of my top favorite French-cut bathing suits.
Bring Business Casual To The Beach
It’s no secret that the beach gets chilly, especially in August. So, I grabbed one of my work button downs from Zara and tied it up into a knot. It is amazing how a well-placed knot can transform your outfit. I altered my boring work apparel into a figure-flattering crop-top, which made it a perfect cover-up during the summer ocean breeze. Having a comfortable but stylish beach outfit will leave you will confidence to flaunt your summer bod you worked towards all winter long!
