Tis the season for spending time with family and friends. But, sometimes that means jumping on the next flight out or taking long road trips in order to enjoy these summertime moments that we wait for all year long. Therefore, pack your suitcases, fill your favorite handbag with travel essentials, and don’t hesitate to book your next adventure.
This summer, I spent bouncing around from New York City, The Hamptons, and to Ohio and back- and it has been a summer to remember! Although, while I was traveling all over, I realized that when it comes to traveling, dressing appropriately is key. You never know when your flight might be delayed or the connections you may meet in route. So, keep your bag filled with business cards and an extra comfy but stylish outfit, just in case your flight gets canceled, or networking becomes necessary.
What’s in my Bag
Packing can be stressful for any traveler, and if you’re anything like me, you tend to over pack by bringing every pair of shoes you own. Keep in mind, that the items you bring can influence your trip and make it a breeze once you are at your destination. So, my advice to you is to pack a daytime and nighttime ensemble for each day. This will limit clutter and prevent you from lugging around a heavy tote or suitcase when traveling. In my carry on handbag, I always keep my makeup case for last minute touch-ups, “Wet Ones” hand wipes because airports are filthy, and my phone charger since I can’t live without social media and texting…
What I’m Wearing
I’m not a pattern girl, but as you all probably know, gingham style has been trending this year. Therefore, I needed to let my fashion freak flag fly and test this pattern out. Truth be told, I am absolutely obsessed with this black and white gingham style off the shoulder top from Nasty Gal. I matched this cute blouse with a basic white cross skirt from MissGuided and threw on my matte black sunglasses from Quay Australia and Capri Jack Rogers. This outfit was comfortable for a long road trip to Montauk but trendy enough to hit up the Sloppy Tuna Beach Bar with my girlfriends once we arrived. Of course, I traveled with my all-time favorite Betsey Johnson suitcase. This chic luggage has multiple secret departments and is easy to identify at baggage claim. So, start your vacation off in style and shop my look.
